With the increasing popularity of texting and other social media platforms, Email remains the professional standard. Learning to make the most of your Email can boost your productivity and enhance your efficacy. This tutorial article will show you how to forward multiple emails at once.
Anyone can have a Gmail account, and over a billion people use one every month. Gmail is free, powerful, and simple to use, with 15 GB of free cloud storage. Gmail has been continuously developed by Google as one of the most feature-rich free Email platforms. Despite all of the capabilities Google has built for Gmail, there is no option for bulk forwarding.
How multiple Emails forwarding works
It is simple to forward future Emails depending on specific conditions. You must configure a filter and forward relevant Emails to another Email account.
The filter can then be applied to existing Emails. However, the use of this option is inconsistent. (This is a kind way of stating it doesn’t always work.) So, when it comes to forwarding Emails, you’ll find that it’s quite simple. Forwarding Emails that you have already received and may need some more effort.
This leaves us with three basic options for forwarding: put up a filter and hope it works on your current Emails, manually forward the Emails, or use a browser extension to handle it for you. Here is our guide that can help you to forward multiple Emails in Gmail at once through all 3 methods.
Use filters to forward multiple Emails in Gmail
Filters aren’t ideal since they forward future arrivals to your new address so don’t rely on forwarding old Emails. It’s worth it since this is a straightforward solution that covers both present and future Email conversations.
To set up Email forwarding with Gmail Filters, follow these steps:
- Open your Gmail account.
- Click the gear icon in the top right corner of the Gmail interface to open a pull-down menu.
- From the pull-down menu, choose to see all settings.
- Select the Filters and blacklisted addresses tab from the drop-down menu.
- Create a new filter by clicking the button.
In the from the field, enter the From address of the Email address you want to forward, as well as any additional conditions, such as name, topic, content, or that contains an attachment.
You can also filter by terms that aren’t in the Email, which can be helpful.
- Click the Create filter button.
- Look for the desired choice. Forward it in this context. It’s important to remember that the option is still disabled.
- Click Add Forwarding Address to enter the Email address to which the Email should be forwarded.
- You’ll be taken to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab. Add a forwarding address by clicking the Add a forwarding address button.
- Enter your Email address and then click Next.
- There will be a confirmation pop-up window. To confirm, click the Proceed button.
- The forwarding Email address will get an Email. Copy the confirmation code, paste it into the given box, and click Verify.
- Don’t forget to choose In the option, forward a copy of every incoming mail.
- To make the changes permanent, click Save Changes.
Steps 2–7 should be repeated. The forward option should now be activated. Click on the box to the right of it.
- Select the checkbox next to Apply a filter to xx matched conversations.
- Finally, press the Create filter button.
- Emails that meet your requirements will be forwarded to the Email address you choose.
- As of this writing, this only works for forwarding fresh Emails. Emails from the past will not be forwarded.
You can also manually forward multiple Emails in Gmail
If you have a set of Emails that you want to send but won’t need to forward again (for example, if you are organizing your message archives), you might like to manually forward them, especially if there are just a few of them.
It used to be able to pick several Emails to forward by checking the boxes next to the Emails you wanted to forward, then clicking forward and sending all of the Emails at once, but that feature has been gone. Unfortunately, you must manually forward each Email.
To manually forward Emails, open each and pick one to forward from the small grey box at the bottom of the Email window. If you have more than a few Emails to forward, this method is not recommended.
To forward multiple Emails in Gmail, use a Chrome Extension
If you don’t mind having extensions, there are many extensions available that can bulk forward Emails in Gmail. Because Gmail and Chrome are part of the same ecosystem, it is better to use Chrome rather than another browser while doing this. When putting this article together, We tested a few extensions and only found one that worked perfectly. Only Multi Email Forward for Gmail worked out of the five or so apps available on the Chrome web store.
Gmail Multi-Email Forwarding
Multi Email Forward for Gmail is a Chrome plugin that accomplishes exactly what it claims. You may forward multiple Emails from inside Gmail. We are not sure why it requires you to register an account with CloudHQ, the company that develops the plugin. However, once generated, the extension always works perfectly. If you use Gmail often for work or for personal reasons, this might be a very helpful addition to your Gmail toolkit.
A free account also has a daily restriction for sending forwarded Emails. The maximum is 50 per day as of this writing.
Gmail allows you to block Emails from spam senders
When you enable filter forwarding on your Gmail account, you may see that spam (generally filtered out by Google) is also forwarded. We discovered that many unwanted Emails that Gmail would normally mark as Spam were being forwarded rather than deleted. This approach for blocking Emails from spam senders in Gmail. Following the steps outlined above, enter the spammer’s Email address in the From field and configure the filter to remove Emails from that sender.
When we first set up the forwarding filter, a few spam Emails were caught up in it, so I just had to add a few Email addresses. This would be useless for the hundreds of spam Emails we get every day, but it would improve the forwarding procedure.
