WhatsApp is one of the most widely used messaging apps on the market. The social media messenger’s message reaction feature is finally being sent out in recent news. Since last year, the feature has been in the process, and it is now making its way to certain Android users through the beta channel.
For those unaware, this function is comparable to those seen in other applications such as Instagram, Messenger, Telegram, or iMessage. You have to hang on to a message and choose an emoji as a response. According to the report, the ability to respond to messages is restricted to a small group of beta testers.
Although WhatsApp has never officially stated when the feature would be available to all users, it is expected to be available shortly. According to WABetaInfo, the emoji responses feature is now available to WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.22.8.3 users. Eventually, there are six emojis from which to choose or respond. This includes expressions like Love, laughter, surprise, Sad, and Thank You.
WhatsApp Message Reactions Feature: Here’s How It Works
WhatsApp users will soon be able to respond to messages with some amazing emoticons, thanks to the new emoji replies feature, which is being handed out to a small group of Beta users. When wordplay might fall flat, emoji replies are the most effective way to portray human sentiments and emotions while messaging. The much-desired WhatsApp feature is finally finding its way to Android handsets for a limited group of beta testers.
To respond to messages with emojis, long-press a text to reveal a box containing six distinct emoticons. You can now select any emoji response, and the app will stick your message as your reaction. The Instagram app has a similar feature but more emojis to choose from. A thumbs-up, Love, smiling face, shocked face, sad face, and folded hands as a show of appreciation are among the six WhatsApp emoji replies.
According to WABetaInfo, the message responses feature is handed out to select beta users on Android handsets running WhatsApp beta version 2.22.8.3. However, everyone who uses the app will indeed be able to see the emoji replies in their messages. The feature’s steady rollout is expected to begin shortly. Message responses were previously observed on WhatsApp Desktop Beta 2.2208.1. However, the functionality was not exposed to public beta users.
The new functionality is called React to Message and can be found in the message drop-down menu. WhatsApp has been researching the addition of a message responses shortcut next to messages on the desktop app, allowing users to respond to messages swiftly.
