Vi Blocks Nearly 8000 SIM Cards After Madhya Pradesh Police Issue Notice- The cyber police of Madhya Pradesh went under substantial investigation into the matter and found out that the swindlers were using different numbers to trick or swindle people all over India by calling them allegedly. When they underwent ground investigation they found that more than 20 different numbers were used by the scammers. By using these SIM cards they duped people all over India. To resolve this issue police took strict legal action against issuing fake SIM cards.

The investigation was made and all the fake sim cards issued within a year were inspected. Moreover, the cyber unit sent a notice regarding issuing fake SIM cards over a year to all the telecom companies including Airtel, BSNL, and Vodafone-Idea to undergo investigation and verify the users of the particular numbers.

Additionally, on Tuesday the cyber police of Madhya Pradesh gave instructions to various telecom companies. Cyber police instructed these telecom companies to identify all the SIM cards which were issued on fake identity proofs and block them. An investigation was made by all these telecom companies and as a result the telecom company called Vodafone-Idea, found out nearly 8000 SIM cards which were issued on fake identity proofs, they showed an immediate response to resolve this issue and blocked all the 8000 SIM cards issued on fake identity proofs.

The investigation showed that a telecom company issued all these fake sim cards which were used by the fraudsters. These numbers were issued on the identity proofs of different people. As a result of the deep investigation, it was later found out that eight people were involved in this scam of issuing fake SIM cards and they were behind all this matter.

Mister Sudhir Agrawal, Superintendent of Police of Gwalior cyber zone stated that a person has duped for Rs 1.75 lakh. He was lured by the scammers, for buying a car through an advertisement that was displayed in 2020. The Cyber Cell unit of Gwalior initiated an investigation and found that the scammer’s phone number was issued in someone else’s identity. Additionally, the Cyber Cell unit found out that these eight people were behind issuing the fake SIM card, and they were helping the fraudster to get fake Sim cards on someone else’s identity. These eight people were associated with the fraudster, they were equally involved in the crime as the fraudster.

Additionally, Mister Sudhir Agrawal stated that it is the first time in India, that nearly 8,000 SIM Cards were blocked. As per the information, other telecom companies are also under investigation, they are re-verifying all the numbers issued within a year to block these SIM cards. 

Later, the cyber police of Madhya Pradesh found out that approx twenty different numbers were used by the fraudsters to cheat on people. As soon as the cyber police got to know about the matter, they took strict legal action against issuing fake SIM cards over one year. A notice was given to different telecom companies and as a result, Vodafone-Idea blocked nearly 7,948 SIM cards, which happened probably for the first time, that a telecom company successfully investigated the fake issued number and blocked so many sim cards to save innocent people and their money from getting duped or scammed by fraudsters, claimed by Mr. Sudhir Agrawal.
